RULES AND REGULATIONS

Classes

Classes will be run from Grades 7 to 13.

Admission

Admission will be granted on the following distinct criteria:

(i) Age of the student / Grade 7 - 11 years

(ii) PSAC results / Performance record of the last examination

(iii) Full compliance with the school rules and regulations

Punctuality

(a) All students must reach school by 08.15 a.m. at the latest.
(b) Right of admittance to school may be prohibited to late comers unless a valid reason is provided.

Uniform

(a) All students must wear the school uniform when coming to school - even when attending internal or external (SC/HSC) examinations.
(b) Proper school uniform implies:

• White shirt with badge sewn.

• Blue short (Grades 7 to 9); blue trousers (Grades 10 to 13) - Sample of material will be provided.

• White and blue jackets as per Imperial College sample and design.

• Appropriate black or white shoes / white socks

(c) Uniform must be properly worn:

• Shirts tucked into trousers/shorts

• Only traditional trousers are authorized (No slim fit)

• Shorts should be five (5) centimeters above the knees

Absences

(a) Excessive absences will not be tolerated.
(b) All absences must be followed by a letter duly signed by the Responsible Party indicating the reason.
(c) Absences for more than three (3) consecutive days must be supported by a Medical Certificate for reasons of illness.
(d) All students appearing for the SC/HSC - 'O' Level and 'A' Level Cambridge examinations must have a minimum of 90% attendance during the academic year.
⚠️ CONSEQUENCE

Failure may entail withdrawal from the said examination on ground of prolonged absence.

Leave

(a) No student is allowed to leave the school premises without permission. Such permission is granted only if the responsible party calls at school to pick up his/her ward.
(b) A leave note shall be entered in the Note Book of the student by the Rector/Deputy Rectors.

Discipline

(a) Students will be expected to behave properly both within and outside school:

• No damage to school property

• No racketing

• No gross misconduct in buses

• No action liable to bring disrepute to the school

(b) Students must obey and respect the teachers and other staff members of the college.
(c) In the course of a lesson no irrelevant talks shall be allowed.
(d) Pupils must have all their textbooks, exercise books and other school materials.
(e) Work assigned to the students must be done and shown to the teachers.
(f) Failure to show a homework will lead to disciplinary measures.
(g) No student shall be allowed to stay in classrooms during short and long breaks.
(h) Students must enter and leave classrooms without any noise.
(i) Piercing (ears, eyebrows, etc.) is strictly forbidden during stay at school.
⚠️ IMMEDIATE ACTION

Immediate suspension will follow any eventual piercing / trace of.

(j) Students will not be allowed to wear necklaces, rings and bracelets at school.
(k) Colouring of hair, complete shaving of the hair unless valid reason, long hairstyle, use of hair gel, beard style and shaving of eyebrows will not be tolerated.
⚠️ CONSEQUENCE

Non-compliance will lead to rustication for a period of not less than one month.

(l) The school uniform must always be worn as specified - even before and after school hours.

Failure to do so tarnishes the image of the school and is subject to disciplinary measures.

(m) Under no circumstances should any student come to school with a mobile phone.

Same will be confiscated.

(n) Students should not bring electronic games, compact discs, steel rulers, pocket knives, correction fluid - "Blanco" and large sums of money to school.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES

• The school will not assume responsibility for any loss or injury

• The above items will be confiscated

• Detention or rustication might follow depending on the seriousness of the offence

(o) No form of money collection, donation, contribution or fundraising activity is permitted within the school premises.

Progress Book and Notebook

(a) All students shall have a Progress Book and a Note Book.
(b) Both Note Book and Progress Book shall be brought everyday to school and must be properly filled in.

Duties of the Responsible Party

A Responsible Party shall:

(a) sign the NOTEBOOK of his ward every week.

(b) notify the ABSENCE of his ward to the Rector/Deputy Rector.

(c) call upon the Rector/Deputy Rector when he shall be convened.

(d) check PROGRESS BOOK of his ward regularly and sign where applicable.

(e) meet the Rector/Deputy Rector to discuss about the work and conduct of his ward.

(f) buy all the textbooks, exercise books and other school materials of his ward.

Disciplinary Measures

Failure to comply with the Rules and Regulations of the school will entitle the Manager/Rector/Deputy Rectors/Educators to take disciplinary action namely:

(i) One or two hours detention in the afternoon

(ii) Rustication for a fixed period

(iii) Suspension with a view to expulsion - Cases referred to the PSEA

School Responsibility

The Management of the school holds itself responsible for the conduct of every student only during school hours - 08.15 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
